The California Department of Education (CDE) funds school districts through a program called the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). The LCFF gives money to school districts based on the needs of students, including students identified as:
- English Learners
- Homeless
- Foster
- Migrant
Or receiving benefits through:
- CalWorks/CalFresh
Additional funding is added to school districts that have higher percentages of these students. Our district makes every effort to identify all students who meet these criteria.
Another method used to identify qualifying students is through a Program Funding Form. You are receiving this letter because your child(ren) has(have) not been identified in any of the categories listed above and therefore may qualify through information provided on this form.
