Resources for Individuals and Districts Impacted by Wildfires

Please share this important information with CVT Members in your district. Thank you!

Safeguarding your health

Wildfire smoke can make anyone sick, children, and adults are especially vulnerable -in particular those with existing respiratory or heart conditions that affect breathing -like asthma and heart disease. The smoke inhalation can worsen your condition.

It's important to take precautions to stay healthy if you are in an area being impacted by the current fires -notably those with respiratory conditions like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It is recommended that you:

  • Avoid smoke and dust as much as possible; try to remain upwind from smoke.
  • Contact your provider to see if medications should be modified or frequency changed.
  • Consult with your provider to see if you should use your quick relief inhaler on a regular basis, if there are fires nearby.
  • Check the air quality in your area and call your doctor if you are having difficulty breathing.

    Available Resources
