It is my honor to serve as Superintendent of the Marysville Joint Unified School District. With 23 schools and nearly 10,000 students, MJUSD serves a diverse community that stretches over 40 miles from Olivehurst to Strawberry Valley. The district office is located in historic Marysville, nestled between the Yuba and Feather rivers.
Our schools are marked by a commitment to educational excellence and are deeply enriched by a supportive school community of students, parents, and staff. Together, we work to assist all students in reaching their academic and social-emotional potential in preparation for success in a global society.
MJUSD’s mission statement is “to provide each student with the most appropriate educational opportunities in a safe environment.” As a district, we remain committed to this mission and, in support, have affirmed our commitment to Excellence through Equity through our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). As Superintendent, I believe there is always work to be done to create supportive school environments for students facing difficult circumstances. Providing all students with opportunity and access is essential to student success.
Our dedicated team of educators focus on the whole student and recognize that students must thrive academically, socially and emotionally, in order to reach their full potential. With that in mind, we strive every day to keep our students safe and engaged in a challenging and exciting learning environment that prepares them for the jobs of today and tomorrow.
My mission as an administrator is to work collectively with community stakeholders to create a safe and equitable learning environment that promotes student inclusion, student engagement, and student success. On behalf of the Marysville Joint Unified School District Board of Trustees, I sincerely thank you for your support of our schools and for the opportunity to work and serve in this extraordinary school community.
Sincerely,

Fal Asrani, Ed.D

Strategic Plan
During the 2021-2022 school year, the Marysville Joint Unified School District started its strategic planning process. A Strategic Plan is a high-level document that outlines an organization’s direction and strategically prioritizes allocation of resources to reach an established set of measurable goals. MJUSD’s Strategic Plan will be presented to the Board for adoption in June 2022 and will lay out a roadmap for the next three school years, from July 2022 to June 2025.
Please watch this video to learn more about our planning process.

Angela Hale started with the Marysville Joint Unified School District in 2009. As a new parent to the community she was very excited to get involved at the elementary school her kids were attending. After a couple of years of doing volunteer work she was officially hired on at the school and stayed with them for several years before moving on to work at Marysville High School. In 2017 she made the move to the district office and although she misses seeing the students every day, she feels fortunate to be able to continue being a part of their successes. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. They love spending days at the beach as often as possible.
Courtney Tompkins oversees communications for the Marysville Joint Unified School District’s Public Information Office.
