Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (or MTSS) is a framework that supports the whole child through a multi-tiered continuum of research-based, system-wide practices. We are all partners in this work at MJUSD. Our goal is to support the academic, behavior, social-emotional, and mental health needs of each child. Working together as a team, the parents, teachers, school staff, and community all play a role in providing support for kids at Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III levels. Our Department provides support for Outreach Consultants, Counselors, and 504 Coordinators. We support all staff members who use the Beyond SST platform. We also support PBIS implementation across all school sites in the district.

• Supporting school counselors in SEL lessons, planning, and outreach
• Social Emotional Learning curriculum in elementary (Toolbox) 
• Social and Emotional Learning curriculum in 6th/7th/8th (Wayfinder)
• Supporting Outreach Consultants at each school site
• Training and support for Section 504 Coordinators 
• Supporting Outreach Consultants in their work to improve student attendance, using conscious discipline approaches and trauma-informed practices.
