INTRADISTRICT TRANSFERS
INTERDISTRICT TRANSFERS
An intradistrict transfer request is defined as those living within Marysville Joint Unified School District, but requesting to transfer from school of residence to another school within Marysville Joint Unified School District. 


An interdistrict transfer request is defined by those residing in a district other than Marysville Joint Unified School District, but wishing to attend a school in a different district. 

Those residing in Marysville Joint Unified School District but requesting to attend a school outside of the district must provide the requested documents for approval.**See under Interdistrict Transfer Requests
 
 
PRIORITY LIST FOR REQUESTS TO ATTEND A SCHOOL WITHIN MJUSD
 
Parents/guardians may request a transfer of a student to a school within Marysville Joint Unified School District. Priority will be in the order below: 
 
  • Students who attended the school the previous year with an approved intradistrict transfer request.
  • Intradistrict applicants who have a sibling currently enrolled in the school requested.
  • Any student whose parent/guardian is assigned to that school as their primary place of employment
  • Director of Student Support and Engagement student placement for reasons that may include: students in foster care, students who are homeless, request from outside agency; Probation, Health and Human Services, Victim Witness, School Attendance
  • Review Board (SARB)
  • Any student enrolled in MJUSD on a first come, first served basis, based on classroom space availability. 
 
***No student residing within a school’s attendance area shall be displaced by another student transferring from outside the attendance area.
Reasons for requesting an interdistrict transfer request
INTERDISTRICT TRANSFER REQUEST REQUIREMENTS
Interdistrict requests are for those residing outside of MJUSD boundaries but wishing to attend a school within MJUSD or those living within Marysville boundaries but wishing to attend a school outside of MJUSD.
 
Interdistrict transfer requests must be completed and returned to the Marysville Joint Unified School District Office at 1919 B Street, Marysville, CA., Room 211 with the required documentation:

CHILD CARE
Proof of employment of all parents/guardians who the student resides with
  • Copy of recent pay stub (last 30 days) OR
  • Letter on the employer’s letterhead verifying schedule (hours and days) and location of employment. 
  • If self-employed, a letter stating the schedule and location of employment and a copy of a business license or permit. 
Letter from the adult or organization providing child care which contains the following:
  • Name, address and contact information of the adult or organization
  • Hours of the center or organization and the hours of business
  • Proof of address of childcare provider
ACTIVE MILITARY FAMILIES
Proof of military employment
  • Letter from military personnel indicating employment OR
  • Copy of recent pay stub
STUDENT SPECIAL NEEDS
Proof of special needs through Individual Educational Plan (IEP) or Professional
  • Copy of  a letter from a physician OR
  • Copy of IEP with specific needs stated not offered by school of residence
SIBLINGS
Proof of enrollment of the sibling in the school outside of the district
  • Letter from parent/guardian of request, which includes the sibling’s name, grade and school of attendance AND
  • Copy of student’s last report card or transcript
GRADUATING OPTION
Proof of enrollment in the school in which the student is beginning their final year in elementary or middle school
  • Copy of student’s last report card OR
  • Print out of student’s enrollment page from school of attendance
RECOMMENDATION OF School Attendance Review Board (SARB), probation or social services
Proof of recommendation 
  • Letter or documentation from SARB, probation or social services to move the student’s school of attendance
SAFETY CONCERNS
Proof of safety concern
  • Letter from parent/guardian stating the safety concern 
  • Letter from current administration, Probation Dept. or Victim Witness, stating the concern  OR
  • Copy of restraining order or police report
