Career Technical Education
CTE provides students with academic and technical skills to complement the knowledge and training necessary to succeed in future careers and to become lifelong learners. CTE prepares learners for the world of work by introducing them to workplace competencies and makes academic content accessible to students by providing it in a hands-on context. Foundational to CTE are rigorous program standards that ensure high-quality CTE through a program of study involving a multiyear sequence of courses. Pathways integrate core academic knowledge with technical and occupational skills to provide students with a path to postsecondary education as well as careers.
The Marysville Joint Unified School District offers 20 pathways of study in 8 industry sectors between our two comprehensive high schools - Lindhurst and Marysville, Marysville Charter Academy for the Arts, and South Lindhurst High School. The diverse CTE offerings include courses in Ag and Natural Resources; Arts, Media, and Entertainment; Building and Construction Trades; Business and Finance; Education, Child Development, and Family Services; Health Science and Medical Technology; Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation; and Transportation.
